Microsoft officially supports Office LTSC Professional Plus 2024 on Windows 11, while ESET supports Windows 11 and includes Document protection that scans Microsoft Office documents before they open.

Do Windows 11 Pro, Office 2024 Professional Plus and ESET Small Business Security work together?

Yes, Windows 11 is an officially supported platform for both Office LTSC Professional Plus 2024 and ESET Small Business Security. Microsoft lists Windows 11 and Windows 11 LTSC 2024 among the supported operating systems for Office LTSC Professional Plus 2024. ESET likewise lists Microsoft Windows 11 as supported for ESET Small Business Security. ESET's Document protection is specifically designed to scan Microsoft Office documents before they are opened, giving the three products a documented technical relationship rather than merely sharing the same PC.

In which order should Windows, Office and ESET be installed?

Install Windows 11 Pro first because it is the operating system required by the other two desktop products. Office 2024 Professional Plus and ESET Small Business Security can then be installed on the completed Windows environment; there is no documented requirement that Office must precede ESET or vice versa. In practical deployment, installing Office before enabling ESET Document protection makes it straightforward to confirm that Office documents are being handled by the completed security configuration. Microsoft also recommends removing incompatible older Office installations before deploying Office LTSC 2024.

Who is this bundle for?

This bundle fits a business workstation where documents, spreadsheets, presentations, Outlook email and Access databases are created locally on Windows 11 Pro and those files require additional endpoint protection. Office supplies the productivity applications, Windows 11 Pro supplies the business operating environment and capabilities such as BitLocker Drive Encryption, and ESET adds malware, ransomware, firewall and Office-document scanning functions. The combination is especially relevant when Office files arrive through email, downloads or removable media because ESET provides file and document inspection around that workflow. The argument does not apply if the PC already has a suitable operating system, Office suite or endpoint-security product.

How does ESET protect Microsoft Office documents?

ESET Small Business Security includes a Document protection function specifically for Microsoft Office files. ESET states that the feature scans Microsoft Office documents before they are opened and provides an additional layer beyond Real-time file system protection. Real-time protection also scans files when they are opened, created or run. This makes the Office–ESET relationship one of the strongest technical reasons for combining these products on the same Windows workstation.

Do Windows 11 Pro and ESET duplicate security functions?

There is some functional overlap, so buyers should understand what each component contributes. Windows 11 already includes Windows Security, firewall and other built-in protections, while Windows 11 Pro additionally provides BitLocker Drive Encryption. ESET Small Business Security adds its own detection engine, Ransomware Shield, firewall, anti-phishing, Safe Banking & Browsing, ESET LiveGuard, Secure Data and other protection modules. The ESET component is therefore an additional security layer rather than a prerequisite for Windows 11 Pro or Office 2024.

What is missing from Office 2024 Professional Plus?

Office LTSC Professional Plus 2024 does not include Publisher or Microsoft Teams as part of the suite. Microsoft confirms that Professional Plus includes Access, Excel, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word, while Teams is available separately and Publisher is not included with Office LTSC 2024. Office LTSC also does not include the Microsoft 365 services or continuously delivered cloud-backed features associated with a Microsoft 365 subscription. OneDrive cloud storage and Microsoft 365-only collaboration, AI and cloud services should therefore not be assumed to be part of this Office purchase option.

When should you buy the products separately instead?

Buy the products separately if one or more components are already covered on the PC or do not match the intended workflow. Windows 11 Home may be sufficient if BitLocker Drive Encryption, Remote Desktop hosting and other Pro-specific business functions are unnecessary. A different Office edition may be sufficient if Access is not required, while Microsoft 365 is the better comparison when ongoing feature updates, cloud services or Microsoft 365-specific collaboration are required. ESET should likewise be omitted if another suitable endpoint-security solution is already deployed and centrally managed.
