What are the essential tools and business benefits of Wondershare EdrawProj Business?
Gantt Planning – Builds visual schedules, dependencies, milestones, and timelines.
Resource Tracking – Monitors workloads, costs, availability, and project performance.
Task Control – Breaks complex work into manageable project activities.
Report Export – Shares project data through clear sheets and reports.
Business Oversight – Supports structured planning for teams and departments.
Workflow Excellence – Keeps project scheduling consistent, measurable, and efficient.
Gantt Planning – Build task schedules with dependencies, milestones and WBS codes.
Resource Planner – Assign staff, track work hours and costs.
Baseline Comparison – Compare planned against actual progress and critical path.
Project Import – Opens .mpp and .xml files from Microsoft Project.
Core Capacity – Unlimited tasks per project in paid plans.
Important – No .mpp export; Microsoft Project round-trip uses XML.
EdrawProj Business is the team licence tier of Wondershare's desktop Gantt chart and scheduling application for Windows, macOS and Linux. The product features are identical to the individual version; the Business tier adds central licence administration, volume pricing and senior technical support for company use.
Company Use – Licensed for internal and client-facing project work.
Licence Control – Assign or revoke seats by registered email.
Volume Pricing – Per-user cost falls as team size grows.
Senior Support – Business orders include senior technical support access.
Excel Exchange – Copy, cut and paste task data both ways.
Progress Reporting – Export Word, Excel, PDF and image reports.
It plans, schedules and tracks projects in a Gantt chart, and licenses that work for a company under one managed account. Tasks are broken into subtasks and linked with Finish-Start, Start-Start, Start-Finish or Finish-Finish dependencies, with a definable minimum interval between linked tasks; successors reschedule automatically when a predecessor moves. Resources, work hours and costs are entered per task, so the Resource Planner and top-level cost view show over-allocation and budget drift without a side spreadsheet. Finished charts export to Word, Excel, PDF and images, with pagination and export-range settings for timelines that run past one page.
It fits planning teams that need Microsoft Project-style scheduling logic but do not want every scheduler on a Microsoft Project licence. Because EdrawProj imports .mpp files directly, a contractor or engineering office can open a client's existing Microsoft Project plan, keep working on the schedule, and hand results back as XML that Microsoft Project reads. Manufacturing, construction and consulting teams are the typical fit, since those plans depend on dependency chains, working-calendar rules and resource cost tracking rather than on Kanban boards. Teams that manage work primarily from phones are the wrong fit: mobile access is view-only.
It can open them, but it cannot write them back in the native format. EdrawProj added .mpp import in version 3.3.1 and Microsoft Project .xml import in version 3.4.3, and the same 3.4.3 release added saving .xml files that open in Microsoft Project. There is no .mpp export, so a Microsoft Project user on the other side must accept an XML file rather than a native project file. If a client contract explicitly demands an .mpp deliverable, check that before buying, because that gap is not closed by the Business licence.
The software features are the same; the difference is licence administration and price structure. The Individual plan covers a single user, while the Team & Business plan adds multi-user control, which lets an administrator assign, revoke and reassign end-users by registered email, plus volume discounts and senior technical support. Free upgrades are tied to subscription plans in both tiers. Buying the Business tier to unlock extra project functions is a mistake: it unlocks management, not features.

Three limits matter in practice. Editing happens in the desktop application on Windows, macOS and Linux; the mobile support added in version 3.7.0 is file viewing, not schedule editing, so a site manager cannot re-plan tasks from a phone. There is no Microsoft Project native export and no server-hosted or on-premises deployment tier, which rules it out for organisations that require a central project server. The free trial is also capped at 60 tasks and stamps exports and printouts with a watermark, so trial results cannot be handed to a client as-is.
Check whether anyone in the delivery chain insists on native .mpp files, because that is the one interoperability gap the licence cannot close. Confirm that your planning method is schedule-driven rather than board-driven: EdrawProj is built around Gantt logic, WBS codes, working-time calendars and the critical path, and it does not ship a Kanban or agile sprint board. Confirm that mobile use is only for reading plans. If those three points are acceptable, the Business tier mainly answers the licensing question of who may use the software for paid company work and who administers the seats.
Yes. Version 3.7.0 introduced online file sharing and collaborative editing of a file by several people, plus comments inserted directly into Gantt chart cells. That covers plan review by a team lead without exporting a PDF for every change round.
Yes. Version 3.6.0 added a network diagram view and the Resource Planner, and version 3.7.0 added a view comparing planned against actual time. The network diagram is useful when a dependency chain becomes too dense to read as bars.
Yes. The free trial limits projects to 60 tasks and applies a default watermark to PDF export, picture export and printing, with pictures capped at standard definition. Paid plans remove the watermark and add pagination, illustration and ultra-HD picture export.
Yes. Cloud file storage was added in version 3.4.0 and is tied to the Wondershare ID used in the application, with deleted cloud files restorable within 90 days on paid plans, compared with 7 days on the free trial. Files can equally be kept locally in the .edrawproj format.
