Memory RAM VM Backup requires 2 GB RAM plus an additional 25 MB RAM for every 100 GB of data being backed up.
Hyper-V Host Agent requires 1 GB RAM.
Offsite Backup Server requires 2 GB RAM plus an additional 25 MB RAM for every 100 GB of data being backed up.
Hard Disk VM Backup requires 1 GB hard disk space for the program and settings plus 15 GB for temporary files created during backup operations.
Hyper-V Host Agent requires 2 GB hard disk space.
Minimum 10 percent free disk space required on each volume holding live VM data for Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy.
Minimum 10 percent free disk space required on each backup location holding backup data.
Display Standard display compatible with the respective operating system.
Management console requires minimum screen resolution of 1280x800.

Note Requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8.
Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 and Windows Hyper-V Server 2008 R2 SP1 require Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 or higher.
Windows client operating systems are supported for Management Tools UI only where listed.
Windows 8.1 support is not listed in the current official VM Backup Version 9 table.
The main VM Backup installation cannot be installed on a domain controller.
Hosts must be in the same LAN and at the same physical site unless a separate VM Backup instance is deployed per site.
VMware free ESXi is not supported.
VMware NBD transport mode does not support virtual disks larger than 1 TB each.
Pass-through and RDM raw device mappings are not backed up.
Proxmox VE hosts require a working internet connection.
Proxmox VE replication and CDP are currently not supported.
Proxmox VE LXC container backup is not supported.
Target storage partitions must be NTFS or ReFS formatted, or network paths accessible by SMB 3.0.
SMB file shares in cloud locations such as Azure Files are not supported as a backup location.
